Air Care Fragrance Trends of 2025
In 2025, the world of air care fragrances is evolving in exciting new directions. Beyond just masking odors, today’s air fresheners are becoming an integral part of our wellness routines, with fragrances that enhance mood, promote relaxation, and even boost productivity in the workplace.
From sustainable ingredients to innovative delivery systems, air care products are merging convenience with luxury, transforming our living spaces into personalized sanctuaries.
In this article, we’ll explore the key fragrance trends that will define air care in 2025 and how they reflect our growing desire for sensory experiences that connect with both our environmental values and personal well-being. Get ready for a fresh wave of innovation that promises to elevate the way we breathe, live, and feel.
Warm & Cozy
In 2025, we see a shift from traditional comfort fragrances like vanilla to comforting, warm notes such as cashmere, nutmeg and caramel. Givaudan fragrance expert, Caroline Sabas, says these warm notes will be combined with “more unconventional elements like metallic or mineral notes”. Sabas created a perfect example of this trend in The Maker’s Dream Eau de Parfum, featuring notes of hypnotizing vanilla bourbon, creamy cinnamon butter, white sandalwood and magnolia.

New Take on Gourmand
Gourmands have always been popular, but this year gourmands are taking a perhaps…unexpected twist. In addition to the usual sweet treats, you’ll see garden-inspired fragrances like basil, olive and rosemary. This savory spin on gourmand brings a fresh herbaceous and earthy appeal.
Conventional gourmands will remain popular but more complex by taking advantage of more youthful sweet scents like bubblegum and marshmallows.
Susan Wai Hnin of Gabar Fragrances says the milky fragrance category will also expand with “new takes on other sweet drinks, from milk teas to lattes and matcha lattes”. Expect to see sweet, creamy compositions elevated with nutty notes (pistachio, hazelnut, almond) like Bath & Body Works Pistachio Milk & Honey.

Mood-Boosting Scents
Perhaps one of the biggest air care fragrance trends of 2025 will be mood-boosting scents. In the past, we’ve seen fragrances marketed as mood boosters but a lack of proof. In 2025, we see major fragrance companies using aroma technology, neuroscience and AI to craft fragrances proven to deliver true emotional benefits. DSM-Firmenich has EmotiON, an emotions-based research programs that explores olfactive clues to target a specific emotion. Givaudan has MoodScentz, a tool with neurobiology measurement capability based on extensive data mining. This tool was created with world-renowned academic leaders and over 35 years of neuroscience research.

Recreation of Nature
This trend reflects our need for reconnecting with the natural world. Gorgeous fragrance creations inspired by nature are “in”. These fragrances are inspired by the marine environment, deep forests, moss-covered stones, and the smell after the rain. Expect to see nature-inspired fragrances with a blend of woods and earthy notes.
Along with nature-inspired scents, watch for Middle Eastern inspired blends using sophisticated accords of oud, sandalwood and cedar.
